Bought a pair of Motobatt-MBTX7U gel batteries for my SB6 off t.bay and, surprise surprise, they don't fit.
Even with the foam padding removed from the carriers, the batteries are approx 3 - 4 mm too big.
Has anyone fitted these batteries to their bike? And if so, how so?

I fitted Yuasa batteries to mine without a problem... YTX7L-BS

Dimensions according to the website are.... 114mm x 71mm x 131mm

I've never used motobatt batteries, but I would have thought all batteries with the same code would be the same size?

I had a pair of those in the SB6 - maybe I'm more determined than you Laughing Laughing Laughing
Maybe try putting the closing brackets inside the subframe ?

well - it transpires that a previous owner had "modified" the battery holders to take the tiny Soraichi batteries that came with the bike. We have re-modified the holders to accept the Motobatt's and all is now well in that department.
Have also had to resort to gluing the headlamp bulb holders together as they had disintegrated with age - a common problem it seems.
Awaiting new front brake line kit then it's off for an MOT and out on the roads (if we get any decent weather here on the NE coast)

Good news Gaz. My bulb holders are still in good nic (so far), most likely due to low mileage on the bike

Didn't I read on here somewhere about another common source for these ? Think it was Katy that posted it.

jatexup posted this link (and thanks for this) to Aprilia AF1 50 lights

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/APRILIA-DOUBLE-HEADLIGHT-FOR-AF1-50/142170707854?hash=item211a08d78e:g:YCcAAMXQdm5Q-w26

and I searched the web, and Aprilia parts vendors, for the CEV bulb holders but to no avail. I may purchase a set of lights just to fill a gap on one of my garage shelves............. Very Happy
