Used my sb6 in a hot part of Australia for a while and used to get hot in traffic so I put a manual switch in the fan circuit fixed that problem _________________ DB1-DB2SR-DB2EF-DB3-DB4 Db10 YB6-yb7_yb10-2xyb11-SB5,2xSB6-kb3-yb5-MILLE MIKEHAILWOOD HARRIS MAGMAN2-TRIUMPH T140-RG500x2-KAWA Z900-SUZUKI GSX1100-DUCATI 900SS- 750 sport ducati DUCATI F1 750- 851 tri colour-500sl-1996 Trumph datona . I use a Davis-Craig adjustable unit for controlling the electric water pump and radiator fan on my GT750 track bike.

I dont want a manual switch its just something else to worry about. Its not a huge problem i can just fit a new switch. I put a Muzzy fan on to shift a bit more air _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

The fans on my sb6 still come on as per standard set up but I consider it’s to late l and the bikes way to hot my liking same with yb11.also I use the manual switch when I park the bike as the plastic fan was melted when I brought the sb6 ps it can get to 40 plus heat in aust _________________ DB1-DB2SR-DB2EF-DB3-DB4 Db10 YB6-yb7_yb10-2xyb11-SB5,2xSB6-kb3-yb5-MILLE MIKEHAILWOOD HARRIS MAGMAN2-TRIUMPH T140-RG500x2-KAWA Z900-SUZUKI GSX1100-DUCATI 900SS- 750 sport ducati DUCATI F1 750- 851 tri colour-500sl-1996 Trumph datona . You might be able to find a Muzzy fan. Its has metal fins with a bigger surface area _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

I have done the same on my Dieci. Wired a switch in parallel with the radiator temp switch. Otherwise the bike is very hot before the fan cuts in normally. Tend to use it if I know the temp will be getting high (ie, getting in to traffic)
All the best

So. Had a look at it and one of the malesin the connector block was come out and one female wasnt gripping. So changed the connector and went op t'road to get the engine hot. It didnt overheat but then again i didnt hear the fan come in. Hmmm fairing off time i think _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

EC,
Just in case it's the switch that's dodgy you might want to think about trying this...…….. the temp switch on my SB6 didn't start the fan until the water temp was v high. I was advised to fit an Intermotor 50332 switch (Nissan Primera or Nissan Sunny) - M16 x 1.5 thread - as it was claimed to lower the temp at which the fan kicks in. Since the fix was dog cheap I tried it and, as a pleasant surprise, it worked! It's been fine for a number of years now.

When i looked at the switch earlier today i thought it was sligthly different to the Suzuki part and i think it might be one of these.
Good to know - thanks _________________ Don't read everything you believe |
