An acquaintance of mine is about to get his SB8R on the road. He will need to replace the chain and sprockets. What are the sizes for front and rear sprockets? _________________ 1991 Bimota YB10

Theres a sprocket code on the back sprocket, or take it off scan it and send it to the sprocket company.
The front is [standard GSXR 1100 W - ]don't go for a smaller front
I'm guessing you have antera wheels
Ignore this I read the title as SB6R _________________ Don't read everything you believe

Bimota SB8R....they all came with Anteras didn't they? - Does that make a difference on the front sprocket as the engine is a TL1000 unit? |

Yep as 2bims says, I recon the front would be standard TL1000 on the SB8R _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Yes, they are Antera wheels. Stock TLR front is 17 teeth.
What about the rear?
Stock TLR rear is 39 teeth but on the TLR forum recommendations were to go with a higher tooth count, something like 41 or 42. _________________ 1991 Bimota YB10

It even tells you its a 102 link chain.....nice of them....I do wish there was more consistency on the brochures and booklets...sometimes the Owners Handbooks give you the info you need...sprocket sizes, bulb wattage, etc....sometimes its the Workshop Manuals and sometimes its the Spare PArts Manual with the elusive information.....
I was searching through all 3 for one of my bikes for bulb wattage.....and there was nothing stated....Grrghhh….looked at the unit itself and it was formed into the moulding onto the back of it...not the most helpful location to contain the information |
