Hi guys. I have a question for all of you out there in DB1 land.

Most of you know my DB1 was not in exactly great shape when I bought it, original bodywork missing, replica bodywork with a lot of wear and tear fitted. This includes wrong type of Dzus fastener.

I can get this set of fibreglass repaired, and I'd like to fit the correct fastener as well.

Does anyone know correct size or part number or a place where I can simply order or purchase "dzus fastener for a BIMOTA DB1" and they would know what I am talking about?

Thanks in advance

They’re difficult to match by all accounts. I don’t think they’re actually ‘Dzus’ fasteners, so simply searching for 1/4 turn fastener might yield more results

yeah, sorry Brian. Dzus has become a bit of a generic term. 1/4 turn fastener is the correct nomenclature

No worries mate, not much help to you but that’s about all I know about them.

I do remember a couple posts on here a couple years ago about these hard to match fasteners, can’t remember now what model they were chasing for.

May have been for an early Tesi? I’ll do a search and see what I can find

Hi Shay, I restored my DB1 back in early 2017 and replaced all the 'Camloc' fasteners. I made life easier for myself by also ordering the tool to install them, though you could probably get away without it. The supplier was LAS Aero in Devon in the UK, www.lasaero.com
Prices are early 2017!

CAMLOC FASTENER STUD
4002-7 8 off 3.73 Each 29.84

GROMMET SNAP RING
R4G 8 off 0.32 Each 2.56
Supplied Part Number 1142902

CAMLOC TOOL R4G/4002
MS-T26 1 off 25.46 Each 25.46

CAMLOC PLIERS
CLP1 1 off 15.47 Each 15.47

More likely to find suppliers by searching for Aircraft Parts suppliers.
Good luck

Camloc fasteners they are to be sure...also used to secure race bodywork on cars...canopies and engine covers on planes...very strong springs and rivetted fasteners on the back...a mere 1/4 turn....sizing them up is a bitch unless youre copying like for like...as they come in all different lengths to match bodywork thickness for a secure fastening
