The M1R forks have a tyre valve type valve on the top of the fork,

Do the forks need to run some air pressure in them or are they a air bleed system like what I had in one of my dirt bikes?

I’m guessing they are air over hydraulic forks? I had a Kawasaki years ago that also had air over hydraulic forks, from memory they used to run about 5 - 8 psi in them. Not 100% sure on yours

No air required in the M1R forks. Even forks that use air only run a couple of psi and it's very fiddly to put that in with any sort of reliability. So for many forks, it's a way of bleeding out the excess air buildup.
