This one looks to be very reasonable. Is this the factory paint work/seat trim?

I would be temped but need to move some hardware first before jumping into the market again:

It looks nothing like my MKII, my paint was black and red, the black was a fine metallic, the red on the bellypan is like mine, but the tank and front are way different, the seat also definitely doesn't look factory...

But then again, it is Bimota and anything could have happened...

I've forgotten all my image host passwords, so hear is a link to a FB page i've created for my bikes, if you look back through the photos, you'll see a few pics of mine before i painted it all black...

"Factory" SB6 Mk2's didn't have the red nose fairing - it was black - and the seat is obviously a custom job. The Marchesini wheels are a bonus - I have seen MK2's fitted with Oscoms and the dreaded Antera's. Missing it's indicators and it looks like the rear fender has been shortened (unless USA-market bikes had short versions fitted as standard), but other than that it looks like a bargain buy.
Pictures (and frame number!) when you have it in your garage, please Very Happy

Cant really "knock" that bike at that price....what with low miles and recent service and tyres.....Gravel rash on RHS fairing looks a little more than "it fell over in the garage"..unless he was entering the garage at 30mph and then fell over.....Not that knowledgable owner as hes convinced its Carbon bodywork throughout....rather than CF laid onto fibreglass to give the illusion

I suspect that the bike has been repainted but i have seen a couple in what appears to be 'opposite' colours to the normal red / black paint scheme, not sure if Bimota did some in the opposite scheme.

Seats have been recovered to add the red stripe.

In his defense.... the factory and media also described it as carbon fibre bodywork.

This was an original sales poster in Australia at the time....

Interesting advert that, Brian.
Note it states that the Pailo(?) front forks are "carbon wrapped".
But then again it does say that the GSXR motor has been "expertly tuned" Very Happy

Thanks Steve, very interesting read. Oh, yeah the all black SB6 is definitely a stunner.

the bike is relatively close, its just in the next state over and the weather is nice but I wouldn't dare to ride it all the way home. there is a number of red flags, one of them is as Steve noticed is the body work.

"Dropped in the garage" or "tipped over in the driveway" are the most common reasons for almost any sort of visible damage among US market sellers. It is equivalent to "air conditioning needs charge" when it comes to non-working a/c's in cars. pictures are taken too far to see any real details on the bike, especially in the damaged areas. wheels show a bit of wear on the rims and the lack of turn signals indicate possible track use. In short, I wouldn't think of touching this bike without a proper pre-purchase inspection.

no tun signals will be an issue to register the bike in California, which has gotten very tight with registering "out of state" motorcycles. Mileage is high enough to get it registered (Commiefornia requires used out of state bike without a California specific emission sticker to have at least 7500 miles on the clock) but it will also need to have a federal emission label. no label = no cali registration.

C'mon we've seen worse. it could well have been knocked over in the garage and landed on something, the frame isn't polished and there aren't any marks on it the handle bar and lever look ok. You'd need to get a close up of the swingarm to see if the rearset has damaged it.
It isn't difficult to add a pair of indicators other than getting the fairing off.

Lets be honest if he was passing a track accident off he'd of got the fair done

Boris, a lot to be said of frame sliders, especially at low speeds. I don't think he dumped it at the track. As for being tracked, why remove turn signals (unless he replaced it with small LEDs)?

The photos are somewhat from afar. Pretty much any photo program allows for resizing of the image, making it larger hence more detailed. I am not saying that you are wrong, just that this bike needs to be thoroughly inspected and checked for a federal emissions label if the bike is to be registered in Commiefornia.

As far as I am concerned, my YB10 fits the ticket nicely. If the bike was within a reasonable driving distance, I would consider looking at it even just for the sake of meeting another Bimota owner. We are almost rare as hen's teeth in the States. 2 Bimotas together around these parts feels like a convention Laughing
