SB6R has the damper mount on a threaded boss welded into the main frame section on the LH

In one of the photos in the yahoo link you can see a threaded tab welded to the bottom of the RH frame spar

The damper shares the top fairing mount - I took mine off.

Are they much lighter than the bimota Oscams ?

Probably but magnesium is not really for the roads and not the best material for longevity . Remember the Robert Dunlop TT crash ??

Rang Cresent (Marchesini UK importer) a good few years ago when I was looking to get some lighter wheels. They said they would not sell me magnesium wheels if they knew they were for the road as race track only. They also told me that over half of the wheels sent back by the big race teams after 12mths for checks failed the crack test and were destroyed , so never buy mag wheels off ebay etc.
OK they want to sell new wheels but he would only sell forged alloy for the road.

Do with this info what you wish , but 20yr old mag wheels are not on my list of upgrades.
