Hello,
I have a set of Motocorse headers for a DB8 fitted to my DB9.
These headers directly replaced the Arrows 2 into 1 Factory race system which moved over onto the DB7-11 VLX prototype replica.
At the time MotoCorse only supplied the headers which dictated someone else making the end cans.
I have had a history of working on exhaust systems (2 stroke and 4 stroke) and decided to sketch out some sizes and diameters.
Racefit were chosen to follow my sketches as my normal guy in Essex has retired to Australia and the 'new' company owners do not work in titanium.
The bike was finished a couple of weeks ago and spent Mon and Tuesday going through 15 different dyno runs.....at X BIKES in Wisbech.
BOB the Drill ....a DB7 owner on one the platforms (North Sea) emailed some pictures he got from MotoCorse...he is thinking of buying a set.

Pretty nice work...but pretty expensive...but still very nice.
When I saw the photographs I was amazed.......the similarities were immense.....even down to the endcan mesh....something RACEFIT were not keen to put these on their endcans.....but they relented.

I had struggled to get the RACEFIT made longer as everyone wants short end cans...but short is LOUD and the killer of torque.
You can see from this shot that my design is slightly longer

So there you have it.....from a physical looks points of view.
Next up the POWER charts....max revs set at 10000rpm
OEM BIMOTA 2 into 1 system 130BHP 76 Ibs torque
ARROWS RACE 2-1 system 139BHP 82 Ibs torque
MotoCorse/RACEFIT mix 139BHP 82 Ibs torque
HOWEVER I mainly ride 6k to 8k and rarely above 9000 rpm as I am pretty sympathetic mechanically-wise and scare very easily,
plus coming from an engineering background actually watching these things run at 10k is frightening.
So...I had the DYNO remapped to this area of MY use.. mainly....ie 7000-8000rpm
Here are the real world figures.
OEM BIMOTA 2 into 1 Arrows 104 BHP and 76 Ibs @ 7750 RPM
ARROWS 2-1 Bimota factory race 116 BHP and 79 Ibs @ 7750 RPM
MotoCorse/RACEFIT 2-2 mix 122 BHP and 82 Ibs @ 7750 RPM
The MotoCorse RACEFIT is a lot quieter than the Arrows unit although it really has not beeded in yet.
Full photos to follow, but at the moment I am back onto the DB7-11VLX with a mission
Hope this info helps make peoples minds up.....maybe..starts some arguments and helps kill the 200BHP reading some suppliers claim.
EVERY DYNO IS DIFFERENT....always start with a base reading and compare accordingly.
My Elefant999r recorded 142 BHP on one dyno unit and 119 BHP on this one.
In this case ....the DB9 has moved from 104 BHP to 116 BHP up to 122BHP @7750 RPM...using each of the systems
BEST news comes from the jump from 71Ibs torque to 79Ibs then another rise up to 83 Ibs @7750 RPM on each ststem change.

Motocorse are nice, but BLOODY expensive !!! Unfortunately !!!!!
Can only spend so much on toys !!

I had a local guy weld a set of pipes to get rid of the Cat on my DB7 and added a Scorpion slip on. It looks close to a factory set up and much lighter plus a little louder. If I could figure out how to post a picture I would |

Pictures , you need an online photo share/storage account , photobucket , imgur , many others out there, upload picture and then copy an paste the link into form thread. |

Hi Gavin. Just bought set of the motocross pipes for the db7. If they look good I'll probably buy the end cans as well. Will put some photos up when I get them. I also have a galessetti set of pipes and cans if anyone is interested. Bob. |

Well..........when I mean finished...it still has the Carbon belly pan from the DB7 to be fitted, then it is complete

Nice work Gavin, thanks for sharing. You're absolutely right with the difficulty of getting guys to work with Ti, same down here in Oz, & while i do most of my own tig work, I haven't had the opportunity to experiment with Ti.
Do you have the pipe specs on hand, ID & lengths? I'm about to tackle a new system on my DB9 then the 8.
