See, you are an ideas man Steve... buying a ship.. what an idea, lets get a few guys we'll all chip in and start buying in BULK
The YB5 is very un boat like, it is actually very nice and agile... Though after swapping and riding a mates YB11 while he rode the 5, i was amazed how roomy the 11 was... it must be why you now own these new fangled roomy Bimotas |
Cant lay claim to the idea....got it from watching the John Paul Getty series.....he was being held to ransom on shipping costs for his Oil.....his son negotiated a deal with several shippers to ship all the oil....His Dad fired him because the best idea was to buy your own boats and never be held ransom again.....plus it reduced his tax liability and yet increased profits
YB11....a nice low seat fairly comfy beast intended for touring either 2-up or with lots of luggage |

Now I like the ship idea !!!!! That would be GREAT !!!! Although maybe not for the bank balance !!! |
I think we've been there before....would perhaps be best to have your own boat rather than store all the bimota bits on your brother boat and have it sitting in the Boat yard in USA for 2.5years waiting for him to pay the balance for it to be shipped...complete with USA cheaper tyres sat on board dating gradually..... |

Hi Brian,
the ship was due to dock on the 28th January.... So i should hear something very soon |
You've bought a ship????….Thats the best Idea I've heard for shipping out Bims and 2-strokes from Japan...just go and buy a ruddy ship...
I have heard said though...that the YB5 is a bit of a boat.....Teehee.... |

I rode a FJ1200 back in the day and very nearly bought one. I loved the big torquey air cooled lump! I can only image what it would be like wrapped in Bimota goodness _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Sounds like a plan Steve.... I’m always up for a road trip when it involves motorcycles, especially Bimotas! _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Are we there yet?
Are we there YET?

I dropped in and spoke to my shipping agent, the can has been unpacked, the bike is safe and sound, but quarantine is backed up, so his complete shipment is booked in for inspection on the 8th Feb...
Assuming all goes well, i should have it the following week.. _________________ Cheers
