Can anyone help with a photo of the way the batteries are wired together. I dismantled it all last year with a view to using just 1 lithium battery but it turned out to be a failed experiment and I now want to put it back to the standard 2 battery set up. But its been 6 months and my memory fails me

It depends if you are using 12v or 6v batteries....

12v batteries need to be hooked up in 'parallel - positive to positive and negative to negative.

6v batteries need to be hooked up in 'series' - the 2 batteries linked together from positive on one battery to negative on the other.

Most SB6’s had 12v batteries in parallel but some early ones had 6v batteries in series. You could go either way as both ways will power the 12v system. 12v batteries are more common and would be cheaper. Easy enough to change to 12v batteries anyway

Thanks guys, That was really helpful, I got them in with a lot of cursing. All the idiot lights work and the lights, horn etc. The only thing that doesn't is the starter button!! Argh!

I checked all the fuses in the little box in front of the batteries, all were ok, any other suggestions for something I may have missed?

Thanks in advance
Greg

Was it working before Greg or has it been sitting for a long time? If it was working right before, double check everything that you had off. If it’s been sitting for a long period, try checking/ cleaning the contacts in the kill switch and the start button. Also could be the sidestand switch
