Yes it is.... I went to Japan a couple years ago on a cruise ship and that seemed a long way too. If I’d had more time and a more sensible baggage limit I would have brought something home with me Crying or Very sad

Hi Steve,
Looks a genuine Corsa to me. (Check for ‘CR’stamped on front of camchain timing tunnel and on crancases just forward of rear engine mount) These are the RAREST Laverda (yes even the legendary SFC750s were made in greater numbers) and marked the pinnacle of 1000cc Laverda development. Finally being appreciated for that and restored ones selling for £15k-£20k in UK fairly recently. Rumour was that these were hand assembled with extra care on piston matching and cylinder heads. I was lucky enough to own one once and its a great ride.

Laverda engines are built like brick shithouse (and weigh about the same) but do need to be screwed together carefully. Spares are expensive compared to Brit and Italian machines but fortunately you have some of the most knowledgable owners/engineers in Aus. The laverdaforum.com is yr friend here. Dam Laverda based in Melbourne as well as a host of enthusiasts (including Maurice down the Great Ocean Road somewhere) and Redax in Qld is probably THE source for Laverda engineering and runs some really HOT laverdas in classic racing.

All the best with yr new steed!!

Hi Ralph, i must say i'm a bit excited about the Laverda. I can see it being a great bike for some longer day trips, a bit easier on the body than the Bimotas.

I have asked the agent to search for the CR stamps... Here is what he sent me..

The rear floating disc confirmed to me it was genuine.

Sure looks original to me! Will try to find a pic of my old one for old times sake.
