|
|
Ok, seriously contemplating making a SB6 happen, but a practicality issue has arisen - how do i carry any sort of luggage on the thing? I need to be able to do the occasional overnighter on it - I suspect a set of soft panniers is not a thing because of the underseat exhaust setup, and there's nothing to attach the straps to... tank bag - similarly not great.
Thoughts? Or are they strictly a daytripper? |

A difficult one for sure. It would be difficult to mount any sort of rack or bags on the back as there’s no rear subframe so anything mounted to the back would be secured to the bodywork. I don’t like tank bags but that would be another option I guess.
I would just use a backpack _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I second Brian, i just use a backpack when i take the SB7 out if staying at a motel or something similar. If i need a tent/sleeping bag i take my more practical bike with tie down points and a steel tank. |

Yup...Backpacks....I've done overnighters and 4/5 night stays on Bimotas with just a backpack...check out Kriega motorbike rider specific backpacks and rucksacks in various sizes.....they are deigned so that the mass is low down in the small of you bike so that when using a bike with clip-ons the mass isn't high on your shoulders pressing down on your Forearms....but in the small of your bike putting no weight on the riders body...and keeping its mass lower down for better handling...tapered also for aerodynamics...quality gear but at a price |

I use a Karrimor 30l rucksack which is good for just about everything. If you pack + half the amount of clothing you can always go to a laundrette. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

I usually just pack half anyway and get in the shower with stuff still on and leave to dry...plus....not much point in being too clean...as the ruddy bike overgear is only washed once a year and that goes on top everytime anyhow....tshirts and sweatshirts I take are the quick drying stuff that feels dry when out of the washing machine |
