Guys,
After some 17 years the clutch slave cylinder seal on my SB8rs has started to leak.
A simple job you think, but hey this is a bimota!
On removing the item and buying a TL1000r seal kit, I was surprised (not) when I could see it was the wrong size.
The slave itself appears to have been sleeved down, presumably to increase throw?
Anyhow, my question to you, has anyone done this before and how did you resolve this issue?
Any help would be gratefully received.

Would it be worth a shot at taking the seal into a bearing/ seal suppliers? They might be able to match it

I had the same problem. the sleeved bore was scored in mine. I just fitted a new tl cylinder that is the same but not sleeved for a smaller piston. Clutch works just the same.

Interesting.
The one on the bike is 28.5mm
The one supplied by BCP is 34mm
I have fitted the BCP one and it is much lighter (bigger bore moves more fluid).
However do you know the bore of your TL one?

The bigger bore should feel lighter. However it would have less travel so it may not separate the plates enough when you're stopped in gear so it may drag. If it doesn't drag, it's all good.

Sorted.

With a big bore master and an original TLR slave, it all works well.

Hi,
did anyone manage to find out, which is the correct part number of those seal? Definitely the one from the parts catalogue and the one from TL-1000R doesn't fit ( 23163-10f00 )
The dimensions of the seal in my SB8R are something like ~28mm outer diameter, ~18mm inner diameter and ~7 mm height of the seal.
It would be great if anyone had any info on this.
Thanks
Regards
Josef
