Dear Bimota fans,
Recently I´ve added to my collection a mint Bimota Mantra (5k kms). Really love the bike, its odd looks in real life are addictive!!!
Now the worst part... the fuel level sensor isn´t working which means I´ve ran out of fuel as the reserve light doesn´t come off. I´ve tried to contact Bimota Classic Parts and other suppliers but none has the part available...
As the bike share a lot of parts with older Ducatis, do you know if a fuel level feeler would work from another bike? Or if you have one available could you please sell it? (part number is 210000433 (x1) > Sonda Livello carburante - Number 11)
Thanks
Kind Regards
JS |

To my knowledge, no body has been able to solve the Bimota fuel sender issue as yet. None of the fuel senders work on any of my Bims and it seems that a suitable replacement hasn’t yet been found.
Ive now got used to the fact that there is no indication of low fuel level and simply use the trip meter to gauge. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851

There are a few threads on here about the fuel sender issue if you do a search. They won’t be of much help though _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Its never a Ducati unit used in the tank....Paioli made them...like also the fuel pump thats a vaccum version....these can still be bought....But you would need to look on ebay in Italy and type in the right words....Like everyone else...we fill up....zero the trip meter and clock 150kms and then refill...On a DB3 you should easily be able to fill up and do 200Kms before refuelling...as they have a bigger tank....if you take out the old one....it may snap a stud on the petrol tank...and also not seal properly.....So..."if it aint too broke...dont fix it" is the "mantra" we use with owning Bimotas....due to lack of certain spares |

Thanks Brian and 2bims. I´ve found a spare one in Germany, quite pricey though so not sure if I´ll not follow your advice on looking at the miles
In my SB6 and SB8RS the reserve light is still working, so fingers crossed that it doesn´t break |
