Been advertised for almost a month. Ad smells of a flipper as there’s virtually no history of this bike listed. Were the original Antera wheels magnesium? I do recall the weight of the wheels being a major area of complaint...

Nope, the Antera's are just cast aluminium, not sure where they got their info from

Thanks Brian. I didn't think so either. This tidbit of mis-information is another indicator that the bike is being "flipped". Nothing against flippers, I guess I can be considered one too with the amount of bikes I go through, but at least get the information right for the future owner.

Yeah I’ve been a victim of misinformation in the past when buying bikes.... you get caught up in the excitement and blindly believe what you’re being told. Feeling embarrassed later, knowing that a little careful research would have avoided it. Not sure if I’m too trusting or just gullible Sad

California plate last registered 2007. Hmmmm. Bike hasn’t been on the road in over 10 years. Could be nasty surprises lurking.

You are spot on Jack. The engine will most likely need to be resealed and the clutch cover might require special attention although with that little mileage I wouldn't think it warped. Figure at least another $1k to get it road worthy.

The Bimota market is slightly odd to me.

For many other makes, a bike that has sat for years is a bad thing. Doesnt really matter that much if it sat in a barn or a high end living room. Time does damage. And at the end of the day these are motorcycles, not sculptures. So if it works less as a motorcycle it is worth less.

But so often I see people listing Bimotas for sale and talk up the fact they have never run, or been stored and all that jazz.

Why are things so different?
