Anyone fitted a non standard complete system. Was looking at an Akropavic thunderace system, but is it a straight fit or is the YB11 system different from the exup valve back ?
Other option is to have Quill make a special. |

Just in case anyone is interested, was told the early R1 headers fit the thunderace motor, so purchaced a nice new Akropavic R1 race zorst of ebay. Guess what, although the spacing and diameters are fine , the mounting collars were slightly to big ( 1mm) , but worse than that , the 2 centre pipes foul the oil filter. Obviously the R1 does not have the oil cooler ring. |

I can't say for sure Vort, the Akropavic thunderace system would have to be a fit as the clearances between the sump and filter would be warranted.
Delkevic make a oem header including exup valve for the thunderace as well. All you would then need is a link pipe and can.
Bimota didn't always orientate their engines as per yamaha, for example the early Yb6 has the engine rotated up into the frame to offset the forward cylinder angle of the black engines, so some fettling may be required. |

I don't have a picture to hand but mine has a two brothers race can on it with a custom link pipe BUT the way the pillion pegs are with a pillion as they push down on the pegs the brakets flex and caused the can (which usually fits snug to the bike) to scrape the swingarm.
Sounds nice tho. Standard headers and exup valve _________________ 03 YB11, 03 Aprilia RSVR Edwards, 94 Ducati Superlight III, 95 Honda NC30, 04 Ducati 999S, 91 kawasaki KR1-S C2, 91 Ducati 851 USD Strada, 89 ZXR750H1, 90 ZXR400H1, 205 16v Rally Car, A6 2.7TDI Avant, STM R1 engined Phoenix |

it's the std hangers that flex that's the problem, and the link pipe makes the can sit too close. Pillion pegs removed and a bus pass for the pillion is always the best option! _________________ 03 YB11, 03 Aprilia RSVR Edwards, 94 Ducati Superlight III, 95 Honda NC30, 04 Ducati 999S, 91 kawasaki KR1-S C2, 91 Ducati 851 USD Strada, 89 ZXR750H1, 90 ZXR400H1, 205 16v Rally Car, A6 2.7TDI Avant, STM R1 engined Phoenix |
