Hi Guys,

someone has a list of all differences between a Standard Yb8, an YB8 Evo and the Furano?

Thx,

Robert

The main difference is the standard YB8 is carb'd, and the others are injected.

YB8 is Marzzochi forks but with option for others/ohlins I believe
Evo is carbs and 46mm Paioli forks slightly different fairing
Furano is Evo fairing , injection and I think USD forks only, but again a few options ohlins etc. Split rims also I believe.

I think there are also slight engine code differences between 8 and Evo , but don't think they amount to much.

All of the above is only what I remember from previously looking but of course could all be complete rubbish.

There are many differences, however the headlines are:

YB8: total built 252
- 1002cc 3GM engine with 36mm carburettors
- Marzocchi suspension
- Mirrors and parts from the 851 Ducati
- All body parts in fibreglass
- 3 spoke single piece wheels

YB8EI (or Furano): total built 152
- 1002cc Fuel injected 3GM engine
- Ohlins suspension (front and rear)
- Mirrors and parts from 916 Ducati
- All body parts and some ancillaries in carbon fibre
- Carbon exhaust canister
- 3 piece wheels

YB8E (or Evolution): total built 169
- 1002cc 3GM engine with 38mm carburettors (may also be later 3GM with spin on oil filter)
- Carbon wrapped Paoli forks (Marzocchi or Ohlins were optional)
- Mirrors and parts from the 916 Ducati
- Body parts in fibreglass and some carbon ancillaries
- 3 spoke single piece wheels

In summary, they were evolved from the YB6 (actually the YB6 EXUP) also has a YB8 chassis.

The real YB8 update was the YB8E and the Furano should really be thought of as a special edition. That said, the YB8E did come after the Furano and does use some of Furano styling elements When new, the Furano was about 80% more expensive than a YB8.

And in there is the usual "slip"....mirrors made by "FAR" in Italy...same shape as same style mirrors used on Ducati 748/916/996 and 998...but NOT the same mirrors...Ducati bases are curved to fit bodywork....Bimota Far mirrors have an angled but flat foot to fit flush to the bodywork.....Same as Cagiva Mito...but dont go buying Ducati Far mirrors expecting they fit flush to any Bimota...be it DB2, DB4 or Vdue or SB6 etc etc....only Cagiva Mito mirrors fit and not the Ones fitted to Ducati....thats me out....wouldn't want anyone to be led astray
