And I am happy to report that the crich Event Admin folk are super efficient this year...wristband and day ticket for bike arrived this morning....So....get your entries in if youre coming....mine effectively was dealt with on Monday and posted and arrived today....Sorted...JUST for clarity...they aren't taking club Block bookings this year....like I sorted last year...So...if youre going you need to sort it yourself

Fame at last...but alas no Fortune....THe Crich Tramway Museum have used my words to advertise and drum up custom for their event....so thats another event likely Kiboshed

Building on the last two years, this popular event has welcomed classic motorcycles from all over the UK. Steve, one of the exhibitors from last year, had this to say:

“It’s a real honour to be invited and accepted and you feel part of the place as a result rather than a commodity wheeled in to enable profit for others running the event. It was my first visit last year and its now an annual agenda I always leave blank in my calendar. I’m looking forward to this event, surely the best run and best casual, but well organised event for bikes I’ve ever been to in such a great setting…lets hope for great weather again.”

Extracted from here:-

https://www.tramway.co.uk/whatson/classic-motorcycle-day/

We so far have a Guzzi something going down from BimotaAndy...meself with the Db2 still trying to win its first ever prize.....PaulDB2 with his YB6.....and we're all riding down with 3 No. Vincents and their old crone owners.....StickerSteve is also venturing out on an RC51 to make up the numbers....Then...its all back to Micks Gaff later for some food...I'm thinking of trying the pizzas for a change...weather forecast says dry and 20 degrees...Perfect

DB2 has now been prepped and cleaned and oil topped up...always a pain in the neck with the one piece bodywork to access the filler cap.....AND...for the first time ever I've flipped the rear wheel eccentric/concentric adjuster to lower the seat height....this allows the rear packing crate stand to be used with the pins...when the 3 pin holes are up at the top...spindle lowest...the rear tyre binds on the packing crate stand....thus with the spindle uppermost the packing crate stand works and the seat is lowered...I was worried about the weight bias F&R due to this change but a Fully fuelled and oiled DB2 weighed showed 98Kgs on the front and 95Kgs on the rear....193Kgs in total...deduct fuel and oil...170Kgs dry weight...and almost a 50:50 weight distribution so I'm happy with that...and...Just in case someone thought I may have sold the Genuine Bimota pronged rear wheel tool kit adjuster I was so kindly gifted...here it is in action doing its thing

Rear wheel packing crate stand in place and rear wheel cling film wrapped during chain blasting cleaning process and chain lube application later...Me loves white wheels but not how they look when you brake cleaner spray the entire chain and calipers/sprocket/disc etc

All done now and nice and clean and fuelled for its 130 mile round ride out on Sunday

And for anyone going there...dont forget to vote for your favourite bike...."Two Fat Ladies - No. 88"....I'm taking down my New iPhone to scan a blank voting slip and have my mini remote printer to rattle off a few copies and fill in some slips and hand them in...I'll win by hook or by crook....I am Dick Dastardley and I ave Mutley coming along too....the ride down will be Wackey Races....a Honda RC51...a Bimota DB2...Some Guzzi from the 1950's/60's ?? and 3 No. Vincents for the 1930's and 1940's....It will be the weirdest looking bunch of SAGA bike riders ever seen....

No. 88..- Two fat ladies

Heres the Crich Tramway Museum/Village layout....the Imoc boys are on the tram Fantail Area 3.....same as last year...so thats the 2 Guzzis…….Triton.....Db2 and YB6 and RC30.....yes...all Italian bikes...ahem

It is an invite only place and show afterall....any joe and his dog can pay to walk around but Bikes being shown are by invite only and "special" people.....those that lick windows on the top deck of buses/trams...so most of us Bimota owners can apply....

There will be an aerial drone flying overhead this year taking videos and pictures....and hopefully thats back on the ground before the Avro Lancaster Bomber flies overhead at 2pm.....Voting closes at 2pm for Best bike as Voted by the Public...so clickey Click....2 fat Ladies...No. 88......And heres the sad tale of my DB2 to help Pull at the heart strings of the Voting General Public.....Almost brought a tear to my eye whilst I was typing it....certainly my nose grew a little longer with every second word I wrote...

Pay particular attention to the words and see if you can find a couple of hints re names mentioned

2bims, your sausage roll bribes are going to get spread awfully thin. Good luck with the 'sob' story Laughing . And the 'Return of the Laminator' is great news (and more competition!).
