these 2 Bimota DB1 brochures sold on ebay recently.....within 1 minute of each other.....this one was listed for sale in the UK

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bimota-DB1-desire-brochure-prospekt-depliant-catalog-1986-/202659762783?hash=item2f2f76925f%3Ag%3AkIYAAOSwpttcl85K&nma=true&si=%252BEp0R0UtUtNpzQxoCmDkregHmVQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

And this one that sold first was listed for sale in France

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bimota-db1-il-desiderio-brochure-prospectus-pub-moto-/392299298244?hash=item5b56dc3dc4%3Ag%3ApbIAAOSwOwpc4Zdu&nma=true&si=%252BEp0R0UtUtNpzQxoCmDkregHmVQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

One of them sold for £18 including postage....the other one £53......One was in English...and one was in Italian (which I didn't know existed)….Now....without looking....which one sold for the most..??? The first one that finished at 11.52pm or the one that sold 1 minute later?....Or the Italian one or the English version one???....

Both were fixed price listings so "buy it now" and not auction or "make an Offer"....

And who the frig bought this for £55 from Centrepoint??? A used DB2 speedo cable thats 20 years old?? You can buy them new from a ducati dealer for £15!!!...I presume the buyer knows of the internet as it came from ebay….so have they not found the Forum?

Oh...By the way...I have a New one of those in its bag with its Ducati parts number on it...I'll set it with postage for just £50...…...Apply within via pm....

I missed this one...a spare SB6 fuel tank....sold with just 1 bid for £55 including postage....

The Bimota market is "odd".
Prices for bikes and parts seem to have a VERY wide range.
Unsure why that is.

Some I assume are buying "what's there" out of fear of missing out.
Others are "shooting the moon" and perfectly happy to sit on a rare part/bike indefinitely.

I suspect people overestimate the value of items they have for sale but given the randomness in the previous emails it is so hit and miss. Also I reckon it's an easy market to flood given it only appeals to certain type of nutter. I see a certain SB6R is now available at considerably less than the initial asking (maybe he should have replied to my offer on the YB9 after all - not bitter). If I miss the Laverda RGS I'm bidding on I may have a back up.

I guess it is just basic Supply/Demand for a lot of it.

Yeah the supply is limited for Bimota, but honestly the demand is rather low too.

Depends on who you are; its a bit "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance". Do you need the real deal or will a print from save as copy from some of the better ebay scanned brochures do. Do you need the genuine 50 quid handle bar shims because the designer stuffed up or will a strip of aluminium drink can suffice. Classicist or Romantic and so it goes on.
