Hi Guys,
It has been a long time since I removed the tank from my 6r.
If I remember properly I had to remove the bodywork and exhaust to do this.
Do you do this or do you take your tank off another way?
And do you leave the exhaust attached to the rear bodywork when removing?

Not so much "being wound down"....and believe me...I've tried to resurrect it by posting....A lot of "old gimmers" that were always on are starting to forget their passwords and not being able to log on...I'd love it if FB went up its own jacksie...but it aint gonna happen in my lifetime methinks....

Sad but true farcebook itself is being surpassed by other platforms and closed groups.

Yesterday in a college course I was told the teacher would post in WhatsApp ... I wondered if they'd read the permissions on that, it accesses your biometric data - finger print and face scanning.

and to answer the question....

Easy job. Remove the tail/seat section. I find the easiest way is to remove it complete with silencers. Release the 2 exhaust springs where headers join rear section. If working alone prop something under the tail light to hold everything up and then remove the 3 allen screws either side of the seat unit that bolt to the frame. Lift and remove seat section.

Next undo the allen screws to the front of the tank. With the seat removed you can also reach the fuel pipe. Remove where it connects to tap which is vacuum so nothing will leak.

Lift and remove the tank.

Simples as a certain annoying rodent would say.

Getting it all back together and everything lined up is a slightly harder job.....
