Is there anyone of you out there that can tell me the differences in/on the frames of the SB6 and the SB6-R? I know that the upper fixed points for the "tanks" are different. Any other differences? Thanks in advance!

The steering damper is on the other side and there's a lot more bracing around the headstock on the 6

The 6r's swingarm is slightly longer and has more bracing than the 6

Thanks for quick responce! I`ve got a SB6-R but my bodyshape don`t fit the racing style of the "R". (My legs are too long, my arms too short and my belly too big) I would like to "make" a streetfighter out of a SB6 instead of my SB6-R due to insurance price differeces between the 2 bikes here in Norway, and the fact that my SB6-R is in mint condition. I`ve got a few extra SB6-R parts such as tailpiece, tank, and rear swingarm that might be a good start for my streetfighter project.... Is there anyone out there that got a spare SB6 frame with documents for sale?

Would that be a good frame to fit the spare SB6-R parts on, and would it look like a SB6-R streetfighter when it`s finished?

Not really, but the chances of finding a spare frame are quite remote. If you want to build a streetfighter then it's much easier to ruin a complete bike than look for bits here and there. So if you want the attributes of the SB6R then it's easier to start with a GSX-R and change it.
Usually this solution is a GSX-R 750W with the 1100 engine then bolt on a front and rear end. You'll have a more upright riding position with the higher headstock and Suzuki seat / pegs ratio.
Then again if you like the engine and want a laid back riding position try the RF900 as standard - it's a very underated bike

OK! But what I want is a SB6-R Streetfighter, with it`s short wheelbase and good looks. I have plenty of bikes and I`m not in a hurry. I`ve got a 1200 bore kit for the 1074cc engine as well. On ebay.de theres a SB6 frame for sale... I want to do this because it`s possible, not besauce it`s easy..

I have an SB6 frame, its not for road use in the UK due to the footrest tag being broken off, the frame written off by the insurance don't know if that is an issue in Norway though?
The broken tag has been repaired now,its a sb6 not sb6r Smile Smile

Hey Evilchicken0

You must live in a rough part of town - they stole all the bodywork and the engine in broad daylight on the street!
