What do you guys think of this:

http://www.moongarage.it/2019/04/16/kit-replica-bimota-db1/

Unfortunately for myself I don't speak/read italian but I do believe the first few lines in the Moon Garage's description of their DB1 repro states that the DB1 was the most beautiful bike ever created.

As Oscar Wilde said “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.” Was he a Bimota owner too? Laughing

not sure if you're serious about your italian, which i thought was quite impressive. until i spotted that there's an english translation underneath...

does look nice. but not sure a bimota-esqu fairing / tank / body on a ducati framed and engined bike is right. half the beauty of the bim is the frame, no?

Looks nice, but have any actually been made? FFS, they were asking for crowd funding just to make the fairing moulds. Smells of dodgy hipsters to me.

I went back and scrolled down. Didn't realize there was english text but after reading it though it does smell di pesce (google translator at work) The picture of their DB1 repro in blue sitting in the hanger is very nice though...

if they haven't got the fairing moulds, where did they get the fairings from for the display bikes?

Would quite like a 999 powered version Very Happy

Maybe CGI or photoshop? The photos do look real though

I've seen a few links to this, the kit looks good and it should be a nice bike on the 999 frame

They're only virtual images. If you look at the wheel/disc spokes, they are in exactly the same location on different coloured bikes. Same for the reflections of the panels. It smells of clicking on an image and changing the colour. There is no way you could photograph a number of different bikes and have those in exactly the same location.
