She is being a fickle mistress, the amount of attention you've lavished upon her I would expect substantial rewards! Good to see it going well on the rebuild, is that a camp bed in the corner or are you still allowed back in the house Laughing Stunning bike

Yes she is being fickle. One step forward two steps back.
I've now fitted the front fairing and have got to change the super duper new (£250) Brembo radial master cylinder for the old type as the radial fouls the fairing Rolling Eyes
Then change the rusty screen bolts, connect up the front indicators and see if it all works as it should.

The clutch problem was my fault. After sorting the plates and turning the spring washers the right way round I reassembled it as I took it apart. Silly me. The chimp that had been in there before had used the spring seat washer behind the cir-clip instead of behind the spring washers. Oh well, another lesson learnt, never trust a primates mechanical skills Laughing

No camp bed in the picture Question
I use a hammock Laughing
Besides, swmbo wouldn't complain about the amount of time I spend in the garage or she wouldn't get to ride my bikes Wink

Arrrggghhh.......
Is this bike jinxed
One step forward two steps back.....
Nice new stainless screen bolts fitted, had to tap out two of the threads as a couple of self tappers had been used.
Changed the clutch master cylinder without two much drama.
Connected the front indicators.......Why are the right indicators flashing twice as fast as the left......because some body fitted a 10w bulb instead of a 21w bulb Rolling Eyes
Quick check around and..........no front brake light Crying or Very sad
Start chasing the fault at the back and what's this..........
the carbon number plate/ rear light holder is held on with one out of the four bolts. The other three have pulled through the extremely thin carbon.
Out of time today so tomorrow looks like a carbon fibre repair and electrical fault finding Crying or Very sad
I must have done something really bad in a previous life.
Will it ever end Laughing

Mate - I feel for you with this bike ... been there a bit with mine.
I'd suspect the brake light switch and then the wiring in the tail is all the same colour if I remember right.

I fitted a brembo radial to mine - I dropped the bars lower on the forks and angled the cylider down to a comfortable angle (I like it setup that way anyway). Then I made a little right angle bracket and located it on the clipon / fork mount, it's an M5 thread.

Calm Oily Calm, let peace slay the want it now monster. You will suss it out and have a good bike to play with once the jobs it has saved up for a more careful owner have been done. Did by some chance the previous owner have damaged knuckles where they dragged on the floor behind him?
She'll be right soon enough

Finally managed to find time for a short 10 mile test ride.
Quite impressive power hike with these pistons.
Compared to the other SB6, there appears to be loads more torque and it seems much smoother.
Roll the throttle open at 80mph and the front end goes all floaty and the seat hump gives you a kick up the back side.
Early impressions...........excellent Laughing

UPDATE.......
Put a grand total of 75 miles on it and it's a joy to ride Laughing
Took it for a MOT last week and it FAILED.
The tester found a small split in the side wall of the rear tyre. I thought he was being overly fussy but that's the only thing he found.
Bought a new tyre, fitted and balanced it and back for a re-test in under two hours.
It's now fully legal and the biggest job left to do (at the moment) is finding somewhere to stick the bloody tax disc Laughing
Let the fun begin Wink

We will probably never know with me riding it Laughing
All I can say is............
it's comfortable at nearly twice the national speed limit but I'm not Wink

SWMBO will be getting her hands on it shortly and you might then get your answer Laughing
