I have read that the radiators were made by KTM.
Are they OEM to a specific KTM, or were they bespoke for Bimota.
Might need to swap them out on my bike. _________________ Bimota (Tesi 1D 904SR, DB2, DB4, SB6,SB6R, SB8R, SB8K Santa Monica) Ducati (1000SS, Monster S4, 999R) Aprilia (RSV Mille R Haga) Honda (CL125s and 70s Chopper) |

Why do you think you need to swap them out? _________________ Bimota SB8R

Take a look at the Spare Parts manual for Sb8's....if its a number starting 50 then its bimota specific.....if its not its usually the part number of another manufacturer like Suzuki....
Be weary though....they may "look" like a rad from another bike....but with bimotas frames they often had to blank off inlets and outlets and make new ones for the plumbing to fit... |

Part numbers are not Suzuki, they are a 50- so bimota specific I guess.
I have a couple of pin holes and they seem gunned up.
I guess I can try a local shop to clean and seal them. _________________ Bimota (Tesi 1D 904SR, DB2, DB4, SB6,SB6R, SB8R, SB8K Santa Monica) Ducati (1000SS, Monster S4, 999R) Aprilia (RSV Mille R Haga) Honda (CL125s and 70s Chopper) |

In the UK we can take any rad to a repairer....they melt the solder off holding the ends to the fins etc...and put new centre sections in to suit...resolder and repaint.....if its got a 5...yup....specific to bimota ...it will be a rad from another bike...but its the location of the spigots, outlets, pressure valve etc that have been made bespoke for the frame and bike |

Unfortunately many of the old school radiator shops also repaired fuel tanks.
Most of the chemicals they used have been outlawed and the companies forced to shut down. _________________ Bimota (Tesi 1D 904SR, DB2, DB4, SB6,SB6R, SB8R, SB8K Santa Monica) Ducati (1000SS, Monster S4, 999R) Aprilia (RSV Mille R Haga) Honda (CL125s and 70s Chopper) |

Even if you have to send them away it would be easier to have them recored (rebuilt) rather than try looking fo new ones. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Might be.
Was leery of trying to get someone to line up the tabs correctly when rebuilding them.
Even if Bimota Classics has them, I assume they are $300-400 a piece. _________________ Bimota (Tesi 1D 904SR, DB2, DB4, SB6,SB6R, SB8R, SB8K Santa Monica) Ducati (1000SS, Monster S4, 999R) Aprilia (RSV Mille R Haga) Honda (CL125s and 70s Chopper) |
