In the states interest for 70-early 80s bikes has dropped off a cliff.

The newest generation of collectors are going crazy for "rad" era stuff. Late 80s to 90s. That is what they have a connection with.
Many do not have to hear it, but classics do not go up in value for ever.
I'm not saying they are worthless, just the right buyers are harder to find. And let's face it, any Bimota is hard to find a buyer for.

What would you reckon the price will be for each bike?
Wondering, as I'm selling these for a client and might move him on the offers...

Hard to tell as condition and running order is everything at this end of the market. However it IS a thin market and I would have thought anything over £15k for either is pushing it even if they are in A1 condition. They also might appeal to different buyers so looking for a single buyer is a big ask.

I agree with Jaguar that 80's bikes are definitely a 60's plus demographic now.
But like with an auction it just depends on who is in the market and how desperate the buyers are to get the bikes before their care home fees ramp up!

This is a SUPER limited market. Also something full of competition. In this price range there are plenty of top tier options.

My thing is that SOOOOoooooo many of the Bimota that come on the market are listed as perfect, and mostly sit. Sure that looks nice, but often does not translate to a pleasant ownership experience....if you are buying a motorcycle and not a piece of art. My other "grip" about purchasing a Bimota is that most are priced to the market for what people think they "should" be worth, not what they are actually worth. This might be due to the lack of public sales being listed.

Fact is that most sellers have little issues waiting for the right buyer.
I just happen to not be one of the "i have to have it" kinda guys.

Take this listing
https://iconicmotorbikeauctions.com/auction/1983-bimota-hb3/

Been on the market for what feels like years.
I think they did an auction once, high bid was around $13k.

A telling quote from the HB3 advert,

The tires are also about 12 years old and should be replaced if you’d like to ride it.

I wouldn't buy it if I didn't want to ride it would I?

Yeah but I think is harder to find a Bimota that HAS NOT sat for many years in a collection!

On that note, will need to smash a few miles on to my Santa Monica in the morning. Only has like 1200 miles. Will try to double that before the end of the season.....

Even the SB6 that I bought was sat in the prev owners lounge room for 5 years before I bought it. It was 18 years old and only had 4200 klm’s on it Shocked
