Hi ive just bought a 1990 YB8 ,hoping to do some post classic racing on it but keep it stock.
It has Folgore painted on it . I cant find any reference to it on google .
Its number is 0000236 out of 242?
It has upside down forks which must be very early, Its come from Japan and now lives in NZ, Seems very fast ...
Any info would be great , Also any copies of owners manuals etc would be appreciated .
Thanks Allan _________________ artistal |

“Seems very fast” is not a description you could apply to a standard YB8, as the induction is completely different to an FZR1000, but Bimota shipped them out with standard FZR1000 carb settings. If yours is “very fast”, be very pleased that somebody has sorted out the carburation. If, the fuelling seems excessively rich low down and runs way too lean at the top end, it’s a standard YB8 and you can be very pleased that, despite your initial impressions, there’s lots more to come. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

By the way, upside down forks suggest a front-end transplant from a YB10 - should have come with RWU Marzocchi M1Rs - a now primitive, but nevertheless competent, fork for the road, but would want some work for the track. If the upside down forks are also Marzocchi, like the YB10, they would also benefit from some work, if you’re going to put it on the track. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

'Folgore' also means 'lightning' in Italian.
Japanese companies have long put Euro/English text and logos on goods as a sign of 'imported expensive stuff' even when its seemingly random words!
Oddly enough lots of folk in UK still think 'Superdry' clothing is exclusive Japanese clothing... because of the logos.....so it works both ways!! _________________ Not as many bikes as I would like and already too many to keep up with! |

Could also be a tuatara front end? Which is similar but with shorter stanchions. The YB10 have bars above the upper triple clamp.
It's ironic that Folgore means 'lightning' and that a Tuatara is the worlds slowest lizard! |
