|
|
Hi together,
my new DB8 from 2015 uses the ATHENA ECU. A 4 pin diagnostic port exists.
I contacted Athena, they do not give any information.
Is there any possiblity in reading out faults, values from this ECU ?
More information would be very welcome, a diagnostiv Software or method would be great.
kind regards Roland _________________ DB2, DB7, DB8, YB8, Furano, YB9

This may be a starting point for the basics. As the machine is from 2015, The actual interface should have be OBDII compliant, so a standard OBDII interface should at least be able to get basic information (however it won't give factory specific details).
As to the plug, four pins in unusual and you'll need to do more research, normally there is a requirements for 2 - 3 pins (signal, earth and possibly positive). OBD systems also separate Canbus and other systems to result in more connectors. However help should be at hand, since Athena most likely used an existing connector and the pin data should be available for this connector.
Athena may also supply ECU's to other vehicles, one of those may also provide more information on the connection protocols.
This is what I had to do with my Bimota Furano (ultimately in my case the Moto Guzzi information proved most helpful)
Hope this helps to at least points you in the right direction.

Thanks Andrew for your information.
I worked a long time with obdII protocol in the past. So I m fimilar with this. Will be next step, if I do not find an easier option, what means, the original software for reading out. Perhaps other athena Software could work.
Yes, this DB8 is from 2015
Typical OBDII commands should usually work with an ELM327

Hi,
thank you very much. I will try this. This is basicly built for DB5, but you thing it could work for DB8 with Athena ? Or did you try already ?
