Hi all
I have a YB9SR ( lovely yellow ) it’s off for an MOT so I can register it here in the uk on Thursday. Having just checked the import documents and the Nova, it’s been put down as registered in 1999 on the Dutch equivalent of our V5C.
Now I am led to believe that these were only made up to 1996.
The frame number is YB900571.
Would this have been possible or has someone cocked up the dates ?

Perfectly possible...as you say..Dutch documents say "registered date"...not actual date of manufacture.....and maybe it was registered some other country before holland.....or maybe it was at a dealers for a few years before being sold....and new owner wanted a New number plate for the year he bought it...perfectly possible to buy a brand new car...thats actually 5 years old....

So...1999 is not an issue...V5 will use that date as First registration and Registered "elsewhere" and type in a new date of "first registration in the UK"...2021.....

Not an issue re insurance either...its over 15 years old so qualifies for Classic bike insurance...but...seeing your list of bikes....you'll know that already

The only "aside" is it will be 2-3 years further away before it gains the Historic registration and NO road Tax or MTO requirement...currently at 1980 and earlier.....so in 2040 it will be valid as opposed to 2037.....And thus begs the question....will you be around then?....no one knows....
