Cool, thanks for sharing, it’s a bargain at the current $6k, anyone care to hazard a guess as to what it’ll likely end up at?? |

That really is very nice.....And looks like it could be a fairly easy "runner"...
It does look to have restored at some point....maybe 15 years ago or so if the age if the tyres is anything to go by....I've never seen such a tarnished worn Vin plate on such a shiney red frame....not an issue...you can still buy the blank bimota vin plates and stamp up a nice new shiney one
Also evidence of a newly fitted screen.....a devil of a job...as they always come undrilled.....which is why this one has a couple of "Oops"....misdrilled holes that have had to be redrilled in the right position....
Price? Should be worth gazillions.....but....I'd bet that Honda CB1100R's go for far more money that this....$15,000 tops....is my punt.... |

This probably will miss reserve...again.
First time they listed it I think it got bid to $13k right at the end.
They then listed it in the classifieds for a LOOOOOONNNNGGGG time for $20k.
Honestly the complete lack of title is the issue for me.
Been bidding, but not holding my breath. _________________ Bimota (Tesi 1D 904SR, DB2, DB4, SB6,SB6R, SB8R, SB8K Santa Monica) Ducati (1000SS, Monster S4, 999R) Aprilia (RSV Mille R Haga) Honda (CL125s and 70s Chopper) |

Anyone can do the VT thing themselves and save the $150.
My point was I personally would NEVER spend top dollar at a place like ICONIC and then still have to chase paperwork and a title.
They absolutely should have taken care of that before the sale. Even more so if they say it is so easy. _________________ Bimota (Tesi 1D 904SR, DB2, DB4, SB6,SB6R, SB8R, SB8K Santa Monica) Ducati (1000SS, Monster S4, 999R) Aprilia (RSV Mille R Haga) Honda (CL125s and 70s Chopper) |

High bid was US$14,100.
Reserve was not met.
BTW,regarding the title...
"It comes with a Japanese title – the seller has had it in a US-based collection for quite some time but he never registered it. Our White Glove service could help with a US title (except in California or Hawaii)." |

Don't you have to physically be IN Vermont or have a Vermont mailing address to do it yourself? That's a legitimate question to which I do not know the answer. |

Totally expectable. It was listed for $20k before the auction.
Honestly if it had a legit title $15k is about right all in.
Iconic seems to constantly need to be in record breaking territory for prices. But I guess after a while that just means the market is moving up.
Issue is that normally they are listing the cream of the crop.
This HB3 was not that.
As for the VT title, no you do not need to have a VT mailing address. That link you posted actually links to all the VT DMV forms you need. They just charge you for handling the forms, nothing special.
Issue is getting someone "official" to sign off on the VIN. _________________ Bimota (Tesi 1D 904SR, DB2, DB4, SB6,SB6R, SB8R, SB8K Santa Monica) Ducati (1000SS, Monster S4, 999R) Aprilia (RSV Mille R Haga) Honda (CL125s and 70s Chopper) |

The lack of US paperwork is of concern. Vermont or Florida will title anything and everything, not sure why someone wouldn't "legitimize" their imports into US that way. This way it becomes much easier to get a title in any other state including California. Just clarify for those not familiar with vehicle registration in the US, each State of the Union has its own regulations concerning vehicle registration. Kommiefornia is the strictest of the bunch. One can import the vehicle into US but that does not guarantee obtaining registration and valid State title for your respective place of residence.
Most of the bikes Iconic sells are consignment units. Reserves are set by the seller, not Iconic. $500 for paperwork is a bit on a high side but not outrageous. Not sure what other big auction houses charge for similar services but dealers charge DMV fees all day long, and thats on US market vehicles with existing MSO or title. Import documentation requires a lot of hoop jumping. Its good for Iconic to offer that service as an option to the buyer.
Iconic listed a bike for me once, I set the reserve the reserve which I felt was fair. The bike did not sell, paid the listing fee and that was it. Easy to deal with and had the bike in my possession pending auction results. Ended up selling that bike to the East coast for pretty much my asking which was still greater than the original reserve.
Also had experience in dealing with Bring a Trailer and can tell you that Iconic is so much more pleasant to deal with. Bring a Trailer wanted to control the process from A to Z including what to price my SB8R for. In the end I opted out of the auction listing with BaT. _________________ 1991 Bimota YB10

This is another auction house that I know a few sellers have used and have been happy. Some really odd vehicles have been on here are well as some real gems. A while back there were some really rare MV Agustas and other bikes. Mostly cars though.
