Okay, I know many have claimed the OEM fueling to be garbage.
Normally I can be upbeat and think of it more as charming.
Starting to put some miles on mine and it really could use some help.
The surges and manors around town or at part throttle are terrible.
My bike never had the factory trimmer.
Are there any decent options to improve things? _________________ Bimota (Tesi 1D 904SR, DB2, DB4, SB6,SB6R, SB8R, SB8K Santa Monica) Ducati (1000SS, Monster S4, 999R) Aprilia (RSV Mille R Haga) Honda (CL125s and 70s Chopper) |

Do you have a stock fuel trimmer? _________________ 1991 Bimota YB10

No the bike does not have one.
Bought it from the original owner, and he said he never bothered to have it fitted? _________________ Bimota (Tesi 1D 904SR, DB2, DB4, SB6,SB6R, SB8R, SB8K Santa Monica) Ducati (1000SS, Monster S4, 999R) Aprilia (RSV Mille R Haga) Honda (CL125s and 70s Chopper) |

Jag, I would venture to guess your bike is a low mile example then. I thought these came with a trimmer from the factory. It offered something like 8 settings and was not as efficient.
Mine had the Evolizione trimmer which is pretty hard to find. It allowed on the fly adjustments. As Boris suggested PC should do the job.

Bike actually has like 7k miles.
Owner just never thought it was needed.
Will have to dig around and see what PC works.
Never had one on a bike. _________________ Bimota (Tesi 1D 904SR, DB2, DB4, SB6,SB6R, SB8R, SB8K Santa Monica) Ducati (1000SS, Monster S4, 999R) Aprilia (RSV Mille R Haga) Honda (CL125s and 70s Chopper) |

I had serious bucking and hesitation issues with my bike several years ago. After some research I decided to clean the TPS with electronic parts cleaner. Made a huge difference and returned to the usual issues with starting and low RPM performance. Came back again and I repeated the cleaning procedure and have not had a problem since. I think the other posters are correct in saying the fueling can be improved upon either via add-ons such as PC or tuning.
After a fuel tank failure (sender fastener pulled out) and paint bubbling I have run alcohol free race gas since. Not certain if that helps with carbon build up in the TPS or not. |
