Last weekend the rivets holding exhaust tail piece failed and the end fell off. I only noticed this when I returned home.

As I remember hearing a strange noise on my ride, I returned there and found the exhaust outlet, unfortunately so had a car. So I have a rather mangled end cap for my exhaust.

While I'm chasing a fabricator to make me a new part, I thought somebody here may know who originally manufactured the exhaust.

The end can is original and appears to be a heavy road friendly silencer (possibly even a FZR1000 part) that has an exotic carbon wrap held in place by neat stainless end caps at each end.

The silencer has a unique Bimota part number (unlike the Yamaha and Ducati parts on this bike) and the end-cap was never available separately.

So I'm hoping someone either has the part laying around as a spare for me or knows who originally made the end can so I can find the part more easily.

If it has a Bimota part number on it, i'm guessing Bimota of the day commissioned a manufacturer to make the mufflers for them. I'd assume an Italian exhaust manufacturer? i'm not sure who was around at the time

The yb9 bikes used LaFranconi for the exhaust so possibly the same but no idea for sure if......
