Hi Chaps. Any one know if you can still buy, (or anything else fits) the in tank fuel pump on the YB6? Mines cactus and I would like to get it running again
It's that corroded that no identification is readable, but I guess it would be weber?
Also any one know what pressure this system runs at? And did any of the later models run a similar pump? Cheers |

From what I can gather the weber pump part number pi-002 is replace by
Bosch 0580464993
Walbro FP604
FSE-syntec OTP020
This would probably apply to later fuel injected models as well. The Ducati 851 and 888 share the same pump as well. |

I know this is an old thread but I think I have the same problem with my YB6EI. Bike won’t start. No fuel pump noise when key is turned on or when 12V applied to pump. From what I can find it seems the Bosch pump is closest to the original. Have removed pump housing from the tank but am not sure how to get the old pump out of the housing. Don’t want to cause any damage. Appreciate it if you could provide some directions. _________________ Steve

Managed to get the pump out of the housing. Resorted to twisting with multi grips and in the end lots of lubricant. Mine was a Bosch 0580 463 999 which maybe used in other Bims is also used in the Ducati 851 & 907, BMW K series, and Ford Falcon XE & XF. Just need to source replacement from the emporium of eBay and hopefully housing O rings from nearest bearing supply. Fortunately I already have a Mahle K145 filter and some submersible FI hose. Hopefully lubricating generously will allow the new pump to slide easily into the housing. Hope this maybe of use to someone else. _________________ Steve

I'm pretty sure it is that same as the 851, BMW and others use. Some years ago I placed a pressure gauge across my Furano pump and it read 3 bar.
So at the end of the day that is the figure to aim for, so ensure the regulator is working and maintaining this pressure.

Pressure regulator doesn’t seem to be a problem. From what I’ve read they’re pretty reliable. However just a tip be sure to tighten fuel pump and filter hose clamps FIRMLY. Don’t ask why I mention this.
Bimota hiding in Australian bush after failing to proceed. _________________ Steve
