As promised OILY, pics attached:

Thanks for your suspension tips POMPEY. I took the bike to Mark Hammond Racing (MHR) on Sat for a suspension set-up. His thoughts on standard settings (which it was) were that the bike would feel vague when cornering at speed (which it did) and would be reluctant to turn in (which it was).

He maxed the rear ride height and dialled in the following suspension settings (for my puny 5' 9" 12 st frame):

Front: compression and rebound both 8 clicks from fully in (I don't know fork oil height or viscocity though).

Rear: spring length 142mm (I'll confirm that when the bodywork's off again), compression and rebound both 10 clicks from fully in.

The bike is much, much, much better. I've now got a baseline against which to start faffing around to see if I can improve it. I'll first try POMPEY's suggestion of lowering the forks in the yokes a bit.

MHR deserves a plug 'cos he did a great job, all for the princely sum of £40. Good value for money imho & got me home in time to watch Simoncelli take out the arrogant git at Assen.
