Just bought a R1 off the ebay as a non runner , no problem there .
the only problem is it will run fine from cold but cuts out as soon as it gets warm , its a 2000 5jj with carbs so my first job was to look at the carbs and fule pump , but i was wondering if it has any fuel management system that i need to look at .
I bought it for a trac bike but if i cant sort it i will break it as all the bodywork is good .
and save the R1 jokes Pompy Laughing

Simplest explanation is a stuck choke. Most complicated is someone has messed with the jetting. Has the bike had any noticeable work done (no air box, marks on carb screws?) I belive that bike has a diagnostics system that can be plugged in to see what's going on.

Check for split carb mounts and other air leaks.

Cheers,
Carl

I got the bike home last night the guy did start it for me to hear the engine and it was fine , and i started it again when i got home to ride it down to my workshop and thats when it died .
i will get the tank off to day and have a look but the choke sounds very promising Very Happy

If it ends up being an on going problem you should ring one of my best mates down in Exeter. His name is Bud and has been a BSB mechanic for years. Runs his own shop out of a barn in Dunchidiock above Ide... His number is 07791160291. Tell him I ( Pompey ) gave you his number and he will sort you out either over the phone or take it to him. Good luck.

Thanks for that pompey, it may or may not come to that. I'm regulary going near Exeter as we do a lot of surfing around wolacombe bay area. I'll try re-jetting it first and if that's not anywhere near, I'll give your buddy a bell Wink
