Oh dear, were's the credit card !!
The 98-01 R1 system I tried on the YB11 was lovely. Well made and very light, and still stainless. Shame it just did'nt quite fit.
Anyone know if the thunderace had the oil filter cooling sandwich plate on it, as that was the problem. Moved the oil filter 2 inches forward , and hence hit the down pipes. |

There were 20 exhaust imported into the uk. Just spoke to them , there are 14 left, well now 13. To coin a well known phrase ' I'm in ' .
System with race can £580, system with removable baffle £655.
Just getting them to check a few dimensions. Will post their reply. |

Find a parts book online that should show you.
Did you keep the R1 system or sell it on ??? _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Sent the R1 system back.
Before I bought it I got them to do a load of measurements , and he said if I did'nt damage it he would take it back.
So thought it was worth the £10 postage each way to give it a go.
Just waiting for performance parts to confirm the header diameter. As I know my YB11 has had the header pipes replaced. But I don't know why ?
Its had alot of engine work done in the past , and not sure if the header diameter was increased. |

Probably need a dyno run to have a look at the low down fuelling. These systems do away with the exup (although Vort's probably doesn't have one). _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Pictures of Akropavic Thunderace system.
4 into 2 under sump.
Twin pipes as they run under sump and rearwards to under swing arm mount.
4 into 2 with lowers back on. Protrude lower than orginal, but no mods to fairings required.
Does my exhaust silencer look big from this angle ??
Think the silencer is a bit long myself, now understand why you see so many cut down ones on ebay.
Exhaust note is far deeper than standard, not seen any side effects in rev range yet, literature states that if fitted to a standard thunderace no mods are required to fueling, blah blah, just got to stop the flat sides leaking fuel now !! |

Nice pipes Vort, and a bargain considering how much extra pipe is in that twin pipe branch, bike looking a little dusty though, needs a good owner who will promise to clean it regularly (oh and ride it - tee hee) |
