How 'loose' should the floating discs be? Mine are quite loose, is this normal. They don't move radially but they do move side to side. The bushes between the disc and the hub turn quite freely.

Yep I'm with Oily at that, yours sound spot on, side to side but no radial movement, designed to allow better centring of the disc to the pads/pistons, sounds like a pocket of change when you're pushing the bike, catches lots of folk off guard

You're dead right there. When the bike first arrived and i pushed it into the carport, i thought something was dragging or catching.

You'd love a DB2, rattly dry clutch, full floater front discs and mechanical valves on an "L" twin, sounds like your entire tool set has been tipped into the washer and put on High spin, and then theres the straight through zorsts and flat-slide valves and K&N ait filters, who needs ipods for a symphony of sounds?

The spring washers have got flattened so the disc moves around.
There was a thread about it on here somewhere ...

anyway they can be rebuilt with new spring washers so they don't rattle.
