|
|
Now I'm sure there are many computer litterate types out there, and others who may be building project bikes, so for those that dont have use of an adequate "paint tool" there is this one that is freely downloadable
It is easy to do (anyone can do it), and it could save you time and grief later. I'll assume a basic understanding of photo editing and computer use.
first off: download PAINT.NET from here:
http://filehippo.com/download_paint.net
open it up and open up an image of your bike
next create a duplicate LAYER and it will be the upper layer that you will adjust.
Next hit Ctrl+Shift+U to open up the HUE/SATURATION/LIGHTNESS
now try sliding HUE to see what happens - the colours change....BUT ....ALL colours change and there may be some that you wish to leave untouched..
simply RUB OUT (using the little eraser tool) the bits on this upper layer you don't want so as to expose the originals underneath
Here I have deselected a layer so you can see what has been removed, the image below is with both layers back together
once you are happy SAVE AS a jpeg...it will ask if you want to FLATTEN the image, select OK (all this does is combine the layers).
any questions?
good...now go and play and see what bizarre colour schemes you can come up with
JOB DONE

And to show you why its useful, i.e. what not to do, and other uses, such as pencil drgs (create your own paint by numbers for Xmas?)

Computers ain't my bag either other than email, ebay and google search, so I let my 9 year old son have a go instead, he's always keen to earn his pocket money |
