wonder how easy it would be to fake a HB1 |

It's definitely a fake - I verified it with a Bimota historian. Not even a nice replica as the wheels are not the correct mags, the rotors, brakes, and oil tank are not period correct. The frame is a German replica (I found photos of this bike on Google with the fairings off) so that helped my search. Its probably an Eckert frame replica. The bike is not a real Bimota HB1 (1 of 10 built), but if you want a cool put together then go for it. |

I'm with George on that one, and would have been on earlier, but my son wanted his "Roblox" on-line gaming session, and certain things come before Bimotas (albeit not many) According to the bible, aka Mr Sarti, indeed only 10 made, well in kit form anyhow, and no frame nos were put on the bikes, lets face it Bimota were still an air conditioning company at the time, five of these were listed in 1999 as being owned and located in Mila, switzerland and Holland. To repeat George, no mag wheels, Fontana calipers seem correct although not normally in gold but silver, forks and caliper mounting bracket not correct, rear caliper normally underslung not on top, but mostly the fairing. Seems a faithful recreation, but Mr Sarti way back in 1999 said there was only one example of a HB1 with a complete fairing, and whilst this one has the right colours and patterns, although not in the right areas, theres also a cut out on the RHS that shouldn't be there. As the seller says, no history and no paperwork, and not for the road, so purely down to choice, Not my bag for the money, and with limited time, I prefer the option to ride straight from the garage, rather than trailer to track |

There is also a Tesi 1D 851. 22000 km, located in Netherlands.
Reasonable mileage, price a bit too high I think.
But highly collectible anyway. |
