Hiya people,
I have just sold my DB1 0529 "kit of parts" that I have owned since 1995 and bought a complete almost running DB1 0075.
I was Bimota-less for about an hour and half after dropping off my machine and picking up the next one! It was horrible!!
It only needs servicing and recommissioning after 5 years sitting. My mate owned 0075 for 17 years and offered it to me a few weeks ago.
It's original paint with 32000kms on the clock.. With only a few mods, like 40mm carbs with separate air cleaners, larger diameter headers, Ohilins rear shock and a conversion to 520 chain. Plan to service it replace the belts and fit Conti's on it and use it!
I have a few parts that came with 0075 spare and I am after a tool kit and warranty book and the key for the seat.
My kit of parts almost went to a prominent New York collector who is on this forum, but someone here in New Zealand offered closer to the asking price and paid a deposit right away which the other chap was only going to do after seeing a detailed invoice with an inventory of all the parts. He was not happy, but a bike is not sold until money changes hands. Sorry it didn't work out George...
I got some interesting parts with 0075 including a very rare chain guard!
The only one I have ever seen in the flesh, they are in the parts book but I have never seen them on the bikes. I can take a mould off it and reproduce these if anyone is keen?
Regards

George my good man, bikes are not sold until money changes hands. I said yes to a price expecting you to pay a deposit to firm up the deal. You didn't pay the deposit I suggested and someone else did.
You also beat the price down, the other guy was happy to pay a better price.
Your fault mate. Get over it.

No actually George I expect an apology from you please. You are out of line.
I have all the e-mails from your dealings....
quote from me on the 8th of Oct....
"Ok George, I am ok with that as long as that's the amount I clear after Bank and paypal fees.
Pay a deposit and consider it yours.
Regards
Gavin"
Part of your response was....
"Be sure to inventory the parts and amounts specifically and i will send a deposit."
My response to try and finalize the deal faster was...
"Is "Bimota DB1 in parts and spares" enough at this stage and I can do a full list as the parts are photographed and packed?"
Your response...
"My purchase manager needs the itemized list for Customs docs and our contract between us. Yes, it's work but I can't send a deposit without a Invoice with the parts list. "
In that time another buyer had come along and paid his deposit.
I clearly said to you "Pay a deposit and consider it yours."
So I have a very clear conscious on this deal and the way it went.
Regards

Gavin,
Look below - YOU SOLD IT TO ME, read your own emails!!! What does it say? These are all from after your email where I was paying the full amount ASAP and foregoing the deposit on your word. Have a great time explaining your way out of this, but IMHO I will never apologize to someone that goes back on his word.
I WILL NOT RESPOND ANY FURTHER TO THIS POST - GAVIN WASTED ENOUGH OF MY TIME. DO NOT TRUST HIM. [END].

Just so I know the best way for you at your end with customes etc...
How would clearly numbering cardboard boxes, and having a master list of parts for each box?
Then I can sort them once pack them a photograph them at the same time.
Some parts like wheels, exhaust and frame/motor/forks will be out of boxes in the main area and listed as such.
Anything else needed? I am happy to help where I can ti make things go as smooth as possible.
Regards
Gavin

Hiya George,
Sorry to report that I will not be going on with the sale of the Bimota or parts.
Another buyer has put his hand up and has payed the full asking price with no shipping.
Thanks for your time and if I come across any Bimota parts I will keep you in mind.
Regards

No. George you are wrong, and seem to just have sour grapes.
What do you not understand about this statement ....
"Pay a deposit and consider it yours."
You never did, hence the bike was never "yours" or "sold to you".
Pretty simple really.
I am over this to.
Life's way to short to deal with people like George, their are just to many really nice people around to bother with him.

Welcome to the forum Gavin. I will not comment further to your exchange with George but you guys should know that this is a small and user friendly forum. If you have personal gripes then send personal messages, we dont need to know. This is not a forum for playground backchat. The only time we are happy to see it is on the rare occasions when some one is trying to sell something that is misleading or dishonest, and that is very rare.
So, keep it coming but keep it cool ... _________________ Pomps
