Now, I am trying to understand how to post a photo on the site and use some of the features I have ignored mainly down to ignorance of all things tech... I am half way through sorting an old 851 ducati and thought I might practice the dark arts of this site?http://www.flickr.com/photos/71613490@N08/6467163207/in/photostreamhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/71613490@N08/6467157195/in/photostreamhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/71613490@N08/6467151047/in/photostream

if you click on the flicker link that did work 2 posts earlier you can see it. But, how do you get the picture to just appear on the post anyway?

I think you are having problems because your link is for the photostream. You need to post the link for each individual picture.

Also found this in FAQ:

Quote:
Where is the HTML code and photo file link?

The HTML code to embed a photo in a web page that you used to find on the All Sizes page is now only in the Share menu above the photo, to the right of the Actions menu. We now also include BBCode! (standard message board code)

There are a few cases where the code may not be available: 1) If the photo is restricted. 2) If that person has turned off "Share this" or access to original files.

The direct link to a photo file is no longer shown on the page. Per the Flickr Community Guidelines "pages on other websites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr." Linking directly to the photo file doesn't do this.

Hi Duncan,

you can do it 2 ways...

Use an external site like this one http://flickr.argote.mx/

Or when you are viewing your photo in flickr, click "Share" which is just above the photo, then us "Grab the HTML/BB Code" Select what size you want to post, then select BB Code, copy the text in the box then paste here.

So, here is a shot of the bike and as it was when I picked it up. The whole of the rest of the bike was in boxes and bags. It was actually far worse then the picture suggests but underneath I hoped to find a gem...

851_2 by pompstar, on Flickr

It took a day to strip it down completely and make a list of parts missing and bits to be polished or powdercoated etc. Then the gathering started...
