So we've had cheap DB2's sold in USA, cheap SB6's in Germany and now a cheap YBi.e. Furano in the land of triangular chocolate, smelly cheeses and Bank Accounts
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200700447301?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Thats a pitiful 3500 GBP, This was the most special and pricey of all YB's made, listing at 22K in GBP when it came out as it had Ohlins front and rear, and this was in the time where Italy charged heavy import costs on goods from outside Italy, apparently, each Ohlins front leg cost an extra 1K GBP than if they used Paolis. This bike was only about 1K GBP below the price of a Tesi when it was released

Anyone on here that combined winter Ski with Bike collection?

Apologies Pompey, thought I had listed it on the Forum, I know the translation said fuelling was an issue but it was running,
All the way up to 3,200/3,300 GBP it was saying Reserve not met, had no idea evidently that the reserve would have been as low as 3500!
Only issue would have been was the time to bob over to check it out before bidding, but yeh sure was a bargain.

Heres the translation for info:-
Offered a rare Bimota Furano is in excellent original condition.Contact from a small collection, I am the second Owners and they have bought in 2001 from the source. Actual Mileage reading approx.20.000. In the spring of 2011 at about 19.000km Big summer full service done (including any statement about Sfr.2500 .- fork service, new tires, new battery, etc.).

The machine has a known defect is not exactly running on all 4 cylinders but not right and they also lost with the engine running gasoline. Oil and water cycle in order to appear to be, I suspect a defect in the mixture preparation

Wanted to be repaired over the winter but because of the motorcycle purchase decision of another (collector)-piece but I have now decided to sell the Furano.

Visually, the Furano in very good condition, accident and "defection" is free. She was regularly in the past 10 years under ideal conditions, each run 3-4 times per season, was never "everyday machine" but has always been part collection.

All original Erstauslieferungsteile available (manual, 2nd set of keys, mounting racks, aluminum and carbon silencer, special tools for cam chain tensioner)

The Furano is a fan and connoisseur of the brand she trusts is up and running properly again, or as a base to upgrade an existing YB 6 / 8 YB use.

The machine is logged off since the spring of 2011, engine can be started but no test drive possible.

The site is in the region of Bern (Switzerland)

I think the YB8 has got an FZR 1000R EXUP engine, it wasn't till the YB11 that its a thunderace.

Correct about the YB11/Thunderace, but re the Fuel injection , no they used an off the shelf weber marelli system , so should have been able to have been fixed at least. seems like they reinvented the wheel time an time again.... Laughing But these babies were quite special, composite wheels not seen since the DB1, Ohlins front and rear, not seen since the more modern DB5/6/7, carbon fibre flashes in the bodywork for bracing, to such a standard that 1 out of every 3 moulds failed inspection...and only 100 made at the time. To compare the standard YB8e was 16.5K in 1993, Biposto was 17.25K and the Furano a whacking 22K, 5 and a half K more than the standard, or put another way the extra cost alone was more than a Brand new Honda CBR600, deepest pockets only needed to apply

And just because I like numbers, 22.5K from 1992 in todays Money would be ........

Current data is only available till 2010. In 2010, £22,500.00 from 1992 is worth

£36,300.00 using the retail price index

£43,700.00 using average earnings

So still more than a Ducati desmodicci thingie, but still "ouch" from 44K down to 3.5K
