courtesy of"2bims" , 2 of his Bimota's and some wonderful late sunshine and warmth.................
the DB5 was my ride out to the local bike gathering at Rivington Barn, where many like-minded bikers had decided to make the most of the beautiful weather.....................
the smoke is from the bbq, not the V-Due.....................
Steve very kindly (foolishly?) offered me the V-Due for the return journey. Being a 2-stroke fanatic, I felt it rude to refuse.
Steve ponders on the stupidity of his generous offer.............
Sadly, it seems Steve had a problem with the DB5 as, despite sticking religiously to the speed limits, I lost him on the way back.....................
Some random V-Due pics taken whilst waiting for Steve to catch up.....................
and the only thing to pass me on the way back.................
on return to Steve's - at least Murphy the dog was pleased to see me.............
Cheers matey - and thanks for the priviledge of riding 2 more of your fab bikes!!!! _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.

Speed Limits???? Oh yeh...perceived by some as a "minimum"...yeh I get it now.....I think the Highway Code book was in B&W when you did your test GeeKay so I'll let you off......Now I know I said "go out and Enjoy yourself"....but dont recall the words "ride it like ya friggin stole it....."
Just glad you didnt continue all the way back to Yorkshire...mind you with a 70 mile tank range it wouldnt have been that long before I caught up with you..... |

Twas a lovely day...albeit Geekay took longer to eat his burger than he actually spent in the saddle....and hes no slow eater...
Big cheers to Crankcase also for the Red Cagiva Mito mirrors now sitting resplendant on the V-due...looks a perfect match in the piccies....and far better than the black standard ones.... |

Great pics!
....I must admit, I was anticipating seeing "Wallace and Grommet"*
* A Nick Park movie "A Grand day Out"
starring Wallace and Grommet, reference.

The mirrors look good Steve. I didn't notice them at first, so they must suit the bike . Are they the same as the ones on your db2? _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Sort of the same mirrors Brian....same shape, cagiva Mito/Ducati 748.916 etc style......with a slant base....Db4 are the same as Vdue, with 2 protruding brass pins in the mirrors and one central fixing bolt, Db2's have no pins though and 2 bolt fixing into the morror base....my Db4 also has red same mirrors...although not standard to the bike, as the black is the standard.....DB2 of mine though evidently has "specials" as the previous owner knew no bounds to changing the bike...so same shape on my Db2...but they are all carbon fibre manufacture and not plastic....must shave off all of 50grammes.... |

Garry, what a luck to have a mate like that.
This way you don’t have to buy expensive Bimota’s
and not worry about maintenance.

Hey...Db1's been ridden...just not much or so far...the "dwarfism" pills still havent kicked in their magic so far to help me get on board...
Needs a carb stripdown over winter and Sonic bath...low idle jets not doing their job and so keeps fouling plugs.....methinks it was sat for some time, not so much battery disconnected, but removed totally....Together with the 6/7 year old tyres it only gets on a very sunny dry day...and then theres others vying for the slot to be ridden...always a hard choice..
Perhaps next year GeeKay....winter seems in full flow now..
But KTM Adventure is now up and running and ready to be used when weather is bad...always the trusty |
