Hmmm, still trying to figure pictures out, I just get the word [img] in the preview...????
But got my wheels back with some new sticky SportMax Dunlops on them...and NO gaarks or scratches on the rims..a new world record for any commercial tyre changing place from my experience. Plus 2 cans of degreaser for cleaning the calipers and swingarm given absence of wheels.
Holy cow I didn't realise how hard my Macadams made in Spain back in 2000 had gotten....would have made for an interesting (short) ride me thinks |

You need to host the pictures on the web, try Photobucket. Then copy the "Direct Link" code. Back on this site click the Img button, paste the link code and press the Img button again.
Most forums are like this although the details of how they work can differ

Hamish, Your battery was/is located in the airbox, I’m curious.
Was it in or near the airbox?
Was there one or two battery installed?
Do you have pictures of this battery placing? _________________ vince

| It was IN the air box and the airbox has three mesh covered openings plus one for the new cables to started solenoid...now I have relocated to behind headlight. The old battery was just a cheap lead acid one. I didn't think it was that interesting so didn't take photos but they made a nice aluminium partition for the battery. This meant tho that there is no airfilter..I have mad 3 individual air filters which I will fasten over the holes. Not ideal but better than nothing. Besides, oiled foam is pretty good. |

Thanks, I have now a picture in my head how it was.
About the airbox, probably you already know or you read it somewhere here on this fantastic forum is too small for breathe the carbs.
I have modified my airbox during my winter maintenance last year.
This motor season I have tested it and my experiences are very good.
All the problems that I had with throttle response are gone.
What I did is increased the air filter surface with approximately 40%.
Maybe this is also something for you to do, pictures and a how to will follow one of these days on this forum. _________________ vince

So got the modified airbox installed..custom Amsoil twinstage oiled foam filter istalled and the sides and back cut out. Exhaust wrapped in heat proof exhaust wrap to cool the air as best as possible. Not ridden it yet but had to wind up the idle so think it's breathing much better!
Ignore grubby alloy...all sorted now

Looking mint, now get out and ride it as soon as the summer rain stops you may need some carb tweaks with the air box mods _________________ Hursty from kiwi land |
