When I bought my DB4 in 2003 I went to NLM who were the Bimota Importer at the time ( or so they said) to look at a SB8RS , they had a few box's of these books, they were selling for £25 each.
How times change !!!

Just to show how screwed up the fleabay system is, this seller has 159 positive transactions rating and 100% satisfaction rating. Looking at that you'd think that you shouldn't think twice about dealing with this seller but the reality is quite different, no?

Vort, reading your post and reflecting on all the recent Bimota offerings it seems that the bikes are going down in price while memorabilia is going through the roof. Now that I got my two Bimotas, I am hoping for trend reversal... Cool

Some models seem to be going up , but some are not.
Strange really as some Bimota's don't seem to worth the sum of the parts that they contain. It is a real shame.
Problem I think is Bimota just don't seem to feature on most peoples radar . They are willing to pay £15-20k for a special addition Duc 1098 , but not for a DB7 , or 10k for a superlight 900ss , but would they pay that for a DB4 ? I doubt it. Yet I believe the DB4 is one of the most underrated Bimota's out there. They are a really nice bike.

I have said it many times , I bought my SB6 at the same time my brother bought a RC45, we both paid the same for the bikes, there was probably about the same number of each bike made. I know which is the better bike yet an Sb6 is 6-8k and a RC45 a 20+k, how does that work ?

You are spot on about the brand recognition. Nothing against Duc's but if you ask "what they would consider a top italian superbike" majority will respond with Ducati, much less so with MV Augusta. When you ask about a Bimota, you usually get a blank stare or something like: "a friend of mine used to own a Buy-mota (pronunciation!!) "

Nothing surprising on the pronunciation, though. Many here still pronounce Jaguar as Jag-wire Laughing Laughing

Very few in the UK recognise the name either , only people of a certain age group that had an SB6 or Vdue on their bedroom wall with scantily clad female on it Razz

I know 1 person on here got asked if it was Chinese when he parked up at a bike meet !!!!!! Shocked

Hopefully so...I did message him to let him know that the 140gbp was ridiculous...and that his previous record of "selling" and then withdrawing had been noted amongst Bimota owners on this FOrum....he didnt message back...but thankfully no-one bought his book...so maybe he'll come to his senses....

My ex partner brought me one of those books years ago, it was fairly rare when she got I remember.
Interesting book, still have it. Theres many myths about Bimota circulated by people usually who know nothing about them.
Then there is the Bimota owners who know nothing about motorcycles that own them, everything becomes obvious once you do your research.
The guy i brought my Furano off was one of them, a salesman if I remember correctly and a real douchbag. Didnt know enough to even change a bikes oil.
