As 2bims says , speedo is not the best unit, they are not water tight for a start, do not wash them. I have sealed mine between the screen and the case and the screen and the 3 buttons with black silicon, which has helped. The other thing is some seem to work on a bolt in every other disc bobbin and others are every bobbin ???? Don't worry about it , just go with what ever is fitted,
Give the bike a good going over when you get it, check bolts torque's etc. Have know bikes delivered with no pinch bolts in the fork leg. Other recommendation is to put a bolt in the lower engine mount that was for the original tesi frame . Think its an m,8/m10 x 200-250mm ish in length.
Oil pump setting / blocked jets and trapped throttle cables are also quite common |

| Thats right Vort...scare the bloke even before its been delivered....but all true though....and even though it has new carbon bodywork and different wheels, forks, shock etc.....best to give everything a once over before its ridden....Disc bolts are another one...the bolts are fine...just make sure they are tight....my front discs I could undo with my fingers and no spanners.....Pump setting for oil will be high for running in....then turn part back...and then fully back......its all in the Vdue manuals if you have a copy of them (workshop manuals that is and not Owners manual)...Piero has them as a free download on his website.... |

Thanks for the reply's.
Not scared off yet, I am fairly versed with RD & RG 500s.
Looking forward to getting the bike and having a good look at it and of course ride it, it will not be just staying in the garage!
Weathers good today and might go out on one of the RD500's this afternoon.
Thanks |
