Another question.
I know the 6R has special front discs ( flying or however it is in called in correct english.
My question is, are these bolts standard on the 6 R ?
They make a lot of sound when not in use and turning the motorcycle in the backyard... Doesn't sound normal to me......any suggestions anyone?

The bolt is the electronic speedo pick-up. If it's making a noise, you need to back out the speedo reader (the bit that's bolted to the end of the caliper bolts) a millimetre or two by loosening the grub screw with a small allen key. If you put the bike on a front paddock stand it's easier to see what you're doing and to get the clearance right (2-3 mm).

The sound you hear when pushing the bike backwards is just the floating discs moving on the carriers, its normal and nothing to worry about.
I was concerned about it when I first got mine Confused

but my mechanic and oily Wink

have both confirmed its normal Very Happy

Just check theres less than 1mm movement forward and back, anymore and it's an MOT fail, the bobbin holes in the carriers can get ovaled.

Usually it's the spring washers on the back of the bobbins, they get flattened so the disk can move left to right whereas they used to be held against the bobbins. These disks are like this because of the iron rich wearing surface, they generate a lot heat (disks convert kinetic to heat energy using friction) and so expand.

You could have the washers replaced (I did) but it doesn't affect performance.

Thanks all for the reactions... I feel a lot better now.
I am new when it comes to floating discs, but now i know a bit more...so no bad feelings about the sound ( wich is not very much, but as everyone on this forum...even a small strange sound makes you worry.... Very Happy

Or am i the only one with these feelings.
Anyway waiting for better weather here in the netherlands Very Happy

Mirrors placed, instead of the carbon-look ones from the previous owner...makes the bike not original anymore...but my opinion is that it looks good, the more carbon the better Very Happy

Thnx for the reaction, study is not as intense as i was expecting so more time to improve the bim, relais issue is sorted out ( replaced the old one for a aprilia relais, now all the led blinkers work fine).
Next thing is changing the tyres, just received the pirelli's and will be placing them soon. Very Happy

Today changed the non-carbon side of the food pegs.
It looks pretty good to me, but it stil is fake to decorate aluminium with carbon instead of the real deal.... Maybe time to produce the other side of the heel protectors also from carbon oily?? Laughing
