As I'm reading through all the newsletters and emails I'm building up a 'how to fix', or common faults and problems to look out for on a data sheet.
I've actually learnt a lot already. I'll have to dig out the full article when I get a chance.
And look it's even got me out of the YB section, and posting in an SB thread. It's not too bad over here is it |

Your quite safe in the SB section.........
It's the DB section where you have to be careful. Something about a shortage of cylinders |

Those DB engines are like Stickle Bricks http://www.sticklebricks.org.uk/
It's good to see your posting in a "SB Fan" thread too
Although the operating temp of the engine remains the same as the GSX-R the effiency of the fan is probably affected by the Bimota bodywork. So when the fan is triggered it will probably take longer to bring the engine temp down (via the radiator) than the more open GSX-R
I reckon the upgraded fan is probably a good idea, but lowering the cut in / out temp might not be. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Stiklebricks
Lowering the engine running temperature may not be such a good thing, unless your running a hot running modified/big bore, but lowering the fan cut in temperature a couple of degrees should be OK
Let's face it, normal running temperature is quite a few degrees below fan cutting in temperature so it shouldn't make a whole lot of difference unless your engine is running hot in traffic etc |

True, and I have orderred the posh fan.
I "think" the fan switch was replaced on mine but can't be sure. I'm toying with using CR10 plugs ... at the moment I run CR9EK - twin electrode _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Gents, as a truely all round nice guy, and sb6 owner I will probably get one of these fans, although never suffered the melting blades myself. Anyway due to many numerous factors , I may be able to get said fan onto blighty shores via other means that are favourable to us hard working folk .
Anyone interested ? |

Don't get me started on shortage of cylinders, my Ducati's down to just the one at the moment, something to do with a TPS mal-funtioning, give me carbs over electronics any day. well at least the sun is shining and gives me good reason to pull it out of the garage |

I wanted to ask if you had decided to replace the fan with a non-Bimota OEM part on purpose for added cooling or because the part was unavailable? |

I replaced the Suzuki OEM part with the upgraded Muzzy part because the original part melted due to Bimota desigining the fan/rad assembly too close to the exhaust headers |
