Thanks for clarifying, I just bought a very low mile SB6R and will keep aware of that problem! Thank you for bringing this issue to our forum's attention. I love this forum!!!

Just to clarify George........
This is a SB6 problem not a 6R problem.
The 6R has a different rad/fan configuration and looks like it won't sufer the same fate as the SB6 fan

Totally different rad with integral oil cooler and twin fans Wink

Has anyone encountered a fan melting on a SB6 before? I imagine it would only be a problem if the bike was idling for a long period.

It's not just a Bimota problem. The Suzuki guys also have issues over time.

idling for a long period such as in traffic etc

The advert in the link says you can run the engine cooler in the city, which is good but then goes on about robbing horespower ... you don't really need max horepower in the city ...
