My winter project that is...........
Bought this in April 2010 for SWMBO to scoot about on.
The previous owner used it for commuting come rain or shine and the condition was far from pristine but it was mostly all there and it mostly all worked so a quick MOT and she was away.
SWMBO is now, mostly using the big bore 6 so this one can come off the road for a while for a refresh and mild update.
How long it'll take.....who knows
First job is get the new wheels to fit.....
Loveeerly carbon rims.....
I'll be pulling the front wheel out and giving it to the engineer as a pattern......
Here mate, make this fit that
I've got a couple of small engine problems to sort like a dragging clutch so being as the engine is coming out, it's going to have a nut and bolt re-build.
Anyone need pictures of anything in particular as it progresses, just let me know

Were those wheels the Triumph pair off the bay ??? I've got a front similar to them but as yet no rear.
So this project is more than polishing the fairing and changing the tyres ????? _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

maybe and probably
What fitment is your front wheel for originally?
DYMAG say these wheels cannot be adjusted to fit the SB6 but we'll see
Front wheel is already with my tame engineer and he's looking all excited because he reckons he can do what dymag can't |

I think the Dymag is going to look better than the Marchesini it'll replace........
......but there's next to no difference in weight and I'm not overly impressed with Dymag's quality of finish
Especially when you consider the cost |

The Machi's must be light then, I can hold the Dymag in my left hand at arms length. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

That marchesini must be light to weigh the same as the dymag. My carbon dymags wiegh next to nothing. Whats the marchesini off originally?
Shame I was'nt on this forum earlier, was a dymag dealer before they went bump, you would be amazed at what the trade prices were!! |

Now you tell us
Can't you be a dealer now they are being made again?
I was planing on doing an accurate weigh in between Antera, Marchesini and the dymags when i get them back from being altered |

Looking a bit weired with no forks.....
better crack on and get it stripped a bit more
Is it me or do those great big clocks look ugly stuck up there.
I'm thinking about replacing them with a KOSO RX1 or RX2 dash.
Any thoughts on this guys?
The question is.........
modern and functional
OR
oldskool and simple
The weight saving alone could be immense |

Nah - oldskool matey.
If the clocks didn't work then it's a different thing but the the originals have those nice faces with the Bimota b on them. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Suppose it depends how many other things I have to replace/modify as to how original it's going to stay. Wheels are a big move away from original but a sensible mod so where do you draw the line?
Anyway........
Just pulled the yolks with a lot of swearing and struggling and hey, normal head race bearings not the usual barrel roller type.
Not sure if that's a mod or from the factory?
This is a late frame so perhaps the factory had lost enthusiasm for the SB6 by then |
