Hi all,
Received some fork seals from the enthusiast club today and will install in the next couple of weeks. Can anyone help me with the weight of oil required and amount?
Cheers |

Hi, the Paioli RSU51 fork manual says BEL RAY MC 10SAE 10 oil, it doesn't say how much but it says fill it upto 180mm from the upper edge of the fork top. I'll try and scan the page with the picture and post that up too. |

In the last paragraph it says 550cc of oil ... but if you check the level of the original oil then drain one of the forks you can measure the amount
http://www.performanceoilstore.com/information_files/totalindcrossref.pdf
Page 20 (under the Bel Ray section) says ...

Fork Oil (5W,7W,10W,15W20W30W) obsolete SAE 5 to 30 NA |
So I reckon it's 10W. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Hey guys,
Thanks alot for the information, it is exactly what i needed.
I thought about measuring the oil that is in the forks but due to the fact that they have been blown for awhile i didnt think it would give me an accurate amount. Usual story as they started with a minor weep that i kept clean(ish) until they finally went.
Getting fork seals made here was going to be costly, 80pounds-ish so i was very happy to see them for sale at the enthusiasts website.
Again many thanks for the info. |

Hi there
I used 10w and filled them to the required level as in the link page above. Ive done a couple of thousand miles on them and they are fine and oil tight. |
